Time for a river revival It is a shame that so many young anglers are carp orientated. in these times of fish filled commercials they have rarely had the pleasure of learning their craft on the nations rivers and when they decide to try them out they find their skills lacking. Now is a great time to venture back to our rivers and incourage young anglers to do the same. Our rivers are cleaner now than they have been for a generation and the quality of the fishing is proof of that. Nearly every river in the country is showing higher stocks of silver fish and records are being brojken with every species. Hector ... I agree. River fishing is my first love, is how I was brought up fishing and there is still plenty of potential for some great catches. I usually fish (when home) on the Severn, a smaller river called the Little Avon the Wye and Frome. Unfortunately they havnt fished quite as well since the major flooding afew years ago ! ... this may put people off, but I am sure in time they will be back to there big fish best. I am based in Sydney Australia now. Loads of great river systems around, but coarse fishing seems unheard of around here. Mainly see fishing. Having said that have had some fantastic catches (see catch reports), Aussie Salmon and Taylor off the beach.
